Greymouth High School - Greymouth

Greymouth High School Weed RemovalYear 10 students at Greymouth High School are undertaking an environmental restoration project at the popular Blaketown Tiphead location.  The plan is to involve all Year 10 students by finding a suited role for everyone and then collaborating to restore the area to native vegetation.

The area is currently covered in brambles and exotic weeds which discourages recretation in the area and creates an unattractive foreground to a stunning background.  The students plan to observe the flora and fauna that currently exists, create a plan for restoring the landscape suitable for the area's microclimate and collaborate with community agencies to carry out restorative work.  This will include removal of exotic weeds, planting and monitoring and mantenance of of the site.
